The Netherlands is among the largest outward investors in Europe, and bilateral trade between the Netherlands and Slovenia has almost doubled in the last five years, making our partnership more strategic than ever.
Over the past two years, the SDBP Investor Conference has showcased visionary projects from sustainable construction, energy efficiency, biotechnology, smart cities, digital transformation and the circular economy as well as green energy and sustainable food. These gatherings were more than presentations; they enabled immediate one-on-one connections between investors and entrepreneurs, resulting in real investments and partnerships.
The Slovene–Dutch Business Platform (SDBP) has grown into a bridge between Slovenia and the Netherlands. Our members have secured funding, entered the Dutch market and gained international recognition across circular economy, sustainable construction, biotech, digitisation and smart-city projects. This year’s conference will unveil a new presentation of our successes and highlight the scale of opportunities ahead.
The 2025 edition raises the bar with an interactive roundtable of best practices NL→SI and SI→NL, providing practical answers you can immediately apply. The stage will be reserved for a curated selection of the most innovative projects with the highest potential for investment or rapid growth. Expect focused pitches, Q&A sessions and facilitated matchmaking.

This year’s SDBP Investor Conference will feature a high-level roundtable on how Slovenian companies can attract foreign (especially Dutch) investors and integrate into international markets, at a time when global growth is slowing but investments in the digital and green economy remain strategically crucial. Foreign investments are obviously truly very important, but so are different EU funding possibilities which can be both in many cases successfully combined. The discussion will also touch on the growing economic ties between Slovenia and the Netherlands and the role of innovative Slovenian projects in this context.
The roundtable will be moderated by Dr. Draško Veselinovič, President of the Board, Slovenian Business & Research Association, with the following speakers: Natalija Stošicki, member of the Council for Development at SAZU; Tadej Gosak, CEO of Marles Hiše; David Volk, CEO of Sigma Energija; and Goran Novković, Editor-in-Chief of Podjetna Slovenija. They will share best practices and key challenges in securing foreign investment for Slovenian companies and offer their views on global trends shaping today’s investment and business development landscape.
